Collecting research data is my hobby.

In the photo above, you will see one of my USB flash drives. It is a 16 gb flash drive. I have been collecting research data, mainly secondary data; however, I do have some primary research data in my collection too. I create folders for my data. I have made several back ups for my research data as a way of ensuring that I do not lose any of this data. I use PDF files for the research data I have and still am collecting.

I would say that this is a hobby and it is part of my independent research work too. Through my research into hobbies, I have learned that one can gain knowledge and skills through hobbies. These would be classed as transferable skills. When I first began my collection, I did not know about data collection. I believe I was naturally drawn to this activity. I have hundreds of research files stored onto my storage devices. I am adding to this collection on an ongoing basis. I study the research files and I make connections between the various files in my collection. This can be a rewarding experience. For example, one of my new proposed business venture ideas came into being as a result of my data collection practices: Way of The Remote Influencer - WOTRI: wotri.org

I did not set out to create WOTRI, it just happened. New discoveries can be made through basic research endeavours. This was certainly the case when it came to the birth of WOTRI. I have been learning many things through my hobby. As mentioned earlier, I did not start my hobby with the intention of making financial gains. In regard to learning, I have learned a lot about personal development during my research pursuits. I noticed that research isn't one of the hobbies listed in web site Google searches. The closest things I could find to research were reading and writing. I hope more people consider undertaking research as a hobby. My hobby doesn't cost too much to participate in. I am paying for my broadband service as it is. I do most of my research online. However, I do use library books too. In the photo below, you will see a gentleman displaying his collection of vinyl records. This type of a hobby requires quite a lot of physical space. I am not knocking this hobby by the way. What I am saying though is that research file collecting does not take up much physical space at all. It is environmentally friendly too.

In the photo above, you will see an example of PDF files that have been stored onto a PC hard drive.
These files do not take up physical space as they are stored in your PC, and/or external storage devices. When I attend social and/or business events, I will slip my unique hobby into the conversation/s I am having. I can also show people one of my USB flash drives and highlight the plus point that this hobby does not involve much in the way of a financial outlay to participate in. The other plus point is that it does not clutter up your home or office with space taking physical products.

New applications for Portmag - Portable Magnetic Keyholder.

I bought a new Portmag keyholder a few days ago. You can see it above. It is the one which is sticking to my fridge. If you look carefully, you will notice that my key ring has two split rings on it. I bought some new split rings through E bay. I found that the original split ring was too thick and heavy. Whenever I used to use the original split ring on Portmag, I found that the ring was joining to the magnet in quite a violent way. I therefore decided to use the new split rings instead. The choice is yours.

Portmag is my invention. One of the definitions of the term 'invention,' is: A new use for an existing material. The actual product is a neodymium magnet that has an epoxy coating applied to it. Hence the sleek look of the product. I was the first person in the world to have used the said product in the highly creative ways as described in my blog posts. I will provide a link to my original posting a little later in this article.

Portmag is a very strong magnet. It is small yet powerful. I was impressed with it's strength. I have found a source for Portmag. However, if you are interested in purchasing Portmag, please contact me directly.

The 2nd version of Portmag is the large metallic covered neodymium magnet as seen in the photographs above. In order for this version to work on a mortise plate of a door, you will need to check if the the mortise plate is big enough first.I usually take this version off as and when needed. It is not a permanent solution. Which happens to be one of the main benefits of Portmag.

What I think about Facebook 'for sale', selling groups.

I came to learn about Facebook 'for sale', selling groups while I was on my regular Facebook page. I investigated this area further and then I decided that I would like to create my own selling group page through Facebook.

I created my group selling page on December 23rd 2015. I chose the name, SOTRI digital download products for sale. I was given the option to choose my own url for the group. I was going to choose the whole name: SOTRI digital download products for sale. However, I was typing the text in a dimly lit room at home. I ended up with a typo: SOTRI digital downloadprd. I will provide a link to the group later in this post.

I had to stick with the above url. Once a unique url has been chosen and typed in, it cannot be changed. I will be more careful next time. What I gather from these groups is that sellers can sell items to people in their city or town. I will be selling my educational digital download PDF products and my e-consulting services through my page. I am so glad that I was allowed to sell these types of intangible digital products and services via Facebook. Some other platforms would not allow these types of products and services to be sold. These other platforms would only allow physical products to be sold through their sites. Or, they would ask that sellers place their digital goods such as e-books, software, digital art etc, onto USB flash drives or digital data CD's or DVD's etc before selling the products on their web sites. 

My group selling page can cater to people in my own geographic area and it can also cater to people across the globe. This is because my products and services can be delivered online via the internet. The Facebook selling groups are very easy to set up. I hope that more people start selling their digital products such as software, music, digital art, e-books, PDF files, e-consulting, e-coaching, e-recruiting, online training etc through Facebook selling groups. I foresee more of these types of products and services listed for sale through Facebook selling groups over the course of time. It is free to set up a Facebook selling page. I am sure it will stay this way.

I am impressed with the Facebook selling group pages. These pages can help would be entrepreneurs who are strapped for cash, to get their ventures off the ground. I have had problems with my business web site recently. This site wasn't through Facebook. The great thing about Facebook pages is that they are very unlikely to have service problems, not be up and running etc. Here's a link to my page:

My Creative skills based CV

I came up with a new and highly creative CV last week. I was inspired to do this after I had attended an interesting and enlightening CV workshop the day before.

Here is a definition I had found for CV.

Curriculum vitae is a Latin expression which can be loosely translated as [the] course of [my] life.

I like the above definition. It puts things in perspective for me. After I had completed my creative CV, I took some time to read over what I had written. It made me realize that I have been working hard to attain my career goals. Maybe this was due to me putting what I had done and what I am continuing to do, down on paper.

I had placed the above jpg logo into my CV. I will place some of what I had written down below:

Entrepreneurial thinking employees can be an asset to any company. The Guardian states that 77% of recruiters had used search engines to find background data on candidates. The Huffington post reported that 80% of recruiters use Google when screening potential hires. Google is the top search engine in the world.

I won't place the rest of the text from my CV. I had placed five bullet points with the corresponding info next to the points. The whole CV was done in bold. I made the font size quite big too so as to capture interest from recruiters.

My CV should show recruiters that I am a creative thinker and that I have research skills plus project management skills. These are sought after skills to have. I will be adding more work to the bullet point areas over the course of time. These bullet points can be like e-portfolios in some ways. I have added my web site and my social media business pages in these bullet points. My CV will encourage recruiters to use Google to look up School of The Remote Influencer and my other sites, pages etc.
When they look these things up, they will see that I am indeed an entrepreneurial thinker as I had stated in my CV.

Copywriting. I am developing my skills in this area.

The above is a new ad I had created for my RI 22 Smart Pills product. I have not received formal education or training in copywriting. However, it is an area in which I believe I can excel. I like to write and I am a very creative thinker. Research is another passion of mine. I am somewhat of an analytical thinker too. In regard to research, I lean more towards qualitative research. I believe in the power of words. I draw power from words, descriptions of things, products and ideas etc. It is as though I can almost create a visual picture through analyzing words. 

When I came up with the above ad, I tried to cut down on writing too many words. It was not an easy task. I wanted the words I chose to capture what my product is about, and of course to create interest in the product at the same time. I highlighted the fact that RI 22 is an internet created product. I will be focusing on this aspect of RI 22. This will be the selling point for RI 22. If you noticed, I mentioned internet twice in the ad. I created the RI 22 product and I have been using it for several years now. This is what RI 22 has done for me:

I came up with the idea for this product via internet research. I have created a Facebook business page for RI 22. In this page, I have freely given info and some instructions on how people can make their own RI 22 smart pills from home. The word can spread about this product via the internet. Customers / clients can receive instruction on how to make these pills via the internet. Payments can also be done via the internet. I have just confirmed what my ad had said: RI 22 is an internet created smart pill.

I have written a book, an e-book, over 23 business articles, with more to come. I manage two Google blogs, a Google plus business page, I also manage 4 Facebook business pages. I own a business web site too. I came up with a unique learning and development solution in 2009. What I have described here is the 'increased productivity' and 'quality of work,' benefit I had written about in the above ad of mine. 

I hope you like the analysis of my ad. As mentioned above, I use RI 22 myself and I stand by the info in my ad. When I reflected upon my past experiences, I recall how I had created ads for special events I had created. I believe I was inclined towards copywriting from a long time back,

I have to admit that I have had a creative block for a while now. I believe I have now removed this block. I will explain why this block is pertinent to this post. I had known several years ago that my consulting, coaching and training work would be in the areas of learning and development. However, I just recently discovered through my research that learning and development would fall under the human resources umbrella. Human resources covers quite a few areas. With my new found realization,  I can now have more of a focused view of what my work is geared towards.

Words, definitions, descriptions etc, mean a lot to me and to the work I do. I draw energy from these things and I use this energy for the highest good. I have spotted a gap in the market for unique HR learning and development solutions. I am now filling this gap. I will elaborate down below:

I will be offering the following services as listed in the following bullet points.

• ATO consulting DOT COM will offer its services and solutions online via the internet
• I will include Remote Influencing, Self Directed Learning - SDL, Unschooling, DIY elements, the Distance Learning model, Self-Help, Life Long Learning, Informal Learning and other elements as deemed necessary ( I connect and reconnect these areas with each other )
• My digital download products and support services related to these products
• Consult with the client/s to help impart research, consulting, coaching, teaching and training skills unto them so as to facilitate them in becoming their own problem solvers

I can work with clients across the globe. My business model is geared toward this end. Clients will not need to drive to me and I will not need to drive to them. It saves on travelling expenses and time for both parties. 

In regard to human resources, I can also work with clients that are between jobs or who are unemployed. This way, I can help develop the client/s so that they can find work in an organization which is best suited for them, in order to attain the goal of becoming valuable assets to the companies they work for.

My Proposed Sole Trader Business name.

In the summer of 2014, I had spent some time trying to come up with a business name for my proposed sole trader e-consulting business. It was not an easy task I can tell you. I decided to use my web site domain name spelled out. I was told that I cannot use the full domain name as a business name. I have a few web sites and domain names. However, the above name is easier to remember, and it is not a long name to remember. I decided upon: ATO consulting DOT COM. I have reserved this name. When the time is right, I will start trading under that name.

Here are some facts about my atoconsulting.com domain name.

• I registered the domain name atoconsulting.com on October 18th 2004
• My web site with the above domain name went live shortly afterwards
• A web site with the domain name ato-consulting.com was registered by another company on March 2nd 2005
• The domain name atoconsultingllc.com was registered by a company on April 14th 2010

I was the first person in the world to have registered the domain name: atoconsulting.com. I am so glad that I had chosen this domain name before anyone else. Short, easy to remember .com domain names are not easy to come by. I am using my proposed sole trader name through my Facebook web site: facebook.com/atoconsultingdotcom
